Olympus Academy, photography course for free (except in the Canary Islands)
Olympus Academy is a free course of four hours to get all purchasers of non-professional SLRs Olympus since 15 May. The offer extends to the entire national territory and Andorra, but not the equipment sold in the islands (un) lucky.
According to Olympus most computers sold in the islands, the mainland citizens buy so did not make sense to do courses there. I wonder customers brand canaries do we forget them? The course is aimed at users who spend the world SLR from a compact camera with point and shoot it without worrying too much. Thus it comes to explaining the most basic notions of photography, in combination with part two of training and marketing. This will start talking about the camera obscura and how they influence the diaphragm, shutter, ISO and white balance in a photo. Then we will review the advantages of home technology ( objectives Telecentric, set 4/3, cleaning system, stabilized bodies, etc..).
And finally will address four workshops in which cameras will be provided to those who do not carry (ie the companions of the buyers) and an assortment of objectives and accessories to put the long teeth to the new photographer, who will leave the course with the feeling of needing to buy more equipment imminently.
Workshops are macro, telephoto , wide angle (fisheye included), and a session of study with flashes and models.

As they say, better than nothing. I just bought a camera Olympus Pen E-PL1, as I am novice on the subject I have bought it thinking it was a reflex, well I know not. A typical part of travel photos I take portraits of children, that are very good, I can make with this camera? or better it back (I'm on probation) and I look for the reflex.
To travel is better than a reflex in that it is smaller and more comfortable to wear. For children you can make the same pictures with a pen than with a reflex. The only thing is that you find yourself comfortable with the camera to forget it and you focus on the photo. If you wanted a reflex and every photo that is not going right you will be thinking that you were wrong, better change it.
Ah! and do not forget to ask for written permission to parents when you take photos of children, you will avoid problems.
